Parish Health Ministry
Mission Statement
The mission of the Parish Health Ministry at Divinity Lutheran Church is to positively impact the lives of
individuals in our congregation by supporting activities that promote the health of body, mind, and spirit.
Invitation to Participate
All healthcare professionals are encouraged to meet with us on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 pm at the church. Your help is needed in this important ministry! Our goal is to educate and encourage healthy living habits for all parishioners.
Ministry Activities
- Health Education articles are published each month in the DIGEST. Corresponding “Backdoor Readings” are posted in the restrooms. A coordinating bulletin board is displayed in the narthex.
- Free blood pressure screenings are offered the second Sunday of each month.
- First Aid Kits are located in the Ushers’ Room, the Main Kitchen, and the office.
- An annual Health Fair is held each fall in the Fellowship Hall.
- Bereavement Support sessions are offered free of charge to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
- Follow-up phone calls are made to those who have been discharged recently from a hospital.
- Meals are offered for a limited time to Divinity Family members who need them after a hospital stay.
- An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is located on the wall in the office hallway. Training in the use of the AED and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation is offered in the spring and fall.
- Weight Watcher sessions are available every day of the week for your convenience. Sessions are held at 6670 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129. For more specific information, please call 800-651-6000.
- Parish Health Ministry provides a healthy mid-week Lenten Meal.
